ROSZA CENTER EVENTS
The following Class Acts at the Rosza Events still have seats available.  Please consider attending one or all, depending on the ages of your children.  These performances provide great cultural enrichment for our children for so little.  We've yet to be disappointed with the quality of the shows.  Sara

ArtsPower production of Four Score and Seven Years Ago  (15 seats available)
Monday, March 15 at 1:00pm
The importance of courage and personal integrity is presented against the backdrop of the American Civil War in ArtsPower National Touring Theatre's production of Four Score and Seven Years Ago.  Even as it exposes the conflicts between patriotism and pacifism, Four Score and Seven Years Ago reveals to young audiences the dilemma of families torn apart by differing beliefs.
grades 4-6

Rumpelstiltskin (18 seats available)
Thursday, March 25 at 9:30am
Rumpelstiltskin is a wonderful play with music for young audiences - in fact, for everyone.  The audience helps the play's characters make sensible decisions and everyone works together to create a happy ending.  Rumpelstiltskin is a production of the Visual & Performing Arts Department at Michigan Tech.
grades K-3

Kevin Locke is known throughout the world as a visionary Hoop Dancer, the preeminent player of the indigenous Northern Plains flute, a traditional storyteller, cultural ambassador, recording artist, and educator.  Kevin has learned many lessons in global citizenship and how we each can draw from our individual heritages to create a vibrant, evolving global civilization embracing and celebrating our collective heritage.
grades 7-12

Registration needs to be made through Sara (withheld for archive) to attend any of the shows through our homeschool groups (Copper Country Home Educators & Superior Home Educators).  Do not contact the Rozsa Center directly as she has already reserved seats for our groups.  Also, grade recommendations need to be observed for all performances.   The cost is  $1 per student due the day of the performance.

WRITING CONTEST
Weekly Reader's Student Publishing Contest honors the best in *nonfiction* publications and writing by students in grades 3-12. The contest is intended to inspire young people to tell compelling, true stories through good reporting and writing. Best of all, *this year it's free!

Science Curriculum Discussion Night ("Mom's/Dad's Night Out)

The Copper Country Home Educators Board would like to invite you to an evening to discuss science curricula at 6:30pm on Wed., Mar. 10th at Cyberia Cafe in Houghton.  If you're looking for suggestions or have a curriculum you have found helpful, please come to learn what others have found useful and share what has worked for you (bring your books along too!).  We will discuss any and all ages levels, so don't worry if your children aren't doing advanced chemistry yet.  If our children are, we can share with you what we used when our children were little.  Our quarterly board meeting will follow and all are welcome to attend.  We are also looking for ways to improve our web site, www.cchomeeducators.com.  Please let us know how can we make it more useful to area homeschoolers?

Consider this your "Mom or Dad's Night Out" and come meet your board and other homeschoolers.  We hope to see you there!
Please share this with a friend.
