Comminity Activities in February

 COPPER COUNTRY HOME EDUCATORS UPDATES
Here are a few things going on for our kids in the community in February.  Contact Carol (withheld for archive) for more information.  You do not have to be a 4H member to attend these activities.
UPDATES TO THIS INFO BELOW 

February
2-9 and 2-11       Mid-Winter Photo 4-H Workshop, Bill (withheld for archive), MSUE, 6:30-8:30, Ages 9- 19, FREE, Bring      camera, batteries, and memory card.  Dress for outside. 2-9                        Basket Weaving, Calumet Art Center, 3:30-5:30, open to all,  FREE for members.  
2-11                     Cloverbuds Arts and Crafts, MSUE, 4:30-6p.m., FREE, Hope to see some familiar faces.   Will be making snow candles so dress warm.
February 24 –       Talk and Treats "Exploring Arctic Svalbard: In search of Ice bears." Bill Leder of Houghton on his National Geographic expedition cruise to the arctic.  
7pm @  Elm River Township School (lasts ~ 45-60 minutes.  Please help spread the word and invite a friend - Hope you will join us for an entertaining evening. 

2-13,20, 27          Beginning Sewing class, Fiber Whims, 2-4p.m., learn several sewing techniques by making several projects, visit local stores, and have some fun recycling and                              working on machines.  Ages 9 and up. FREE for members/ $10 for membership  plus cost of  some fabric.

2-19 & 20            UP Wide Teen overnight,  Sarah, Emily, Shaylee, Susan and Jeanmarie we hope you have a great time.

March
3-1,8,15,22,29, 4-5    Financial Planning for High School Students, MSUE, ninth grade and up, $5/$15
4-H Chess Club will start in March.  Currently waiting for final details.
3-4-10                  Mean Girls & Real Boys- Exploring Bullying through the Lens of Gender & Other Differences. Crystals Falls.
3-6-10                  Horse Bowl, Crystal Falls, Details to come
3-20                     Bowl for Kids – Looking for teams of 4 people to help raise funds for the BB/BS program.  Great community service activity.
UPDATES

2-16                                      DATE CHANGE The Basket Weaving has been postponed from Tuesday, February 9th until Tuesday, February 16th due to ceiling work.    Basket Weaving, Calumet Art Center, 3:30-5:30, open to all,  FREE for members.  Pre-register by 2-12.
***Ready to learn more chess strategies?  MTU Chess club is willing to help you in the 4-H Chess club.  All are welcome to join.  Cost is current 4-H Members, FREE and non- members, $10.00.  Pre-register early due to limited enrollment by email,  (withheld for archive).  Thanks to the 4-H Leaders/MTU Chess club members who put this on for our community.  Time as usually Saturdays 2-4.
