OCTOBER 8TH SCIENCE FIELD TRIP
I'm organizing another one of those GREAT science field trips for all age students.  This one will be on October 8th-- that is a Thursday-- at 1 pm.

For the older kids, ~4/5th and up, they will do a stream evaluation in Traprock River-- they will use nets and pails and their hands to collect specimens of aquatic organisms that live on the bottom or swim in the water.   Waders or mud boots will be helpful, but not necessary at all.  Students will then determine, by comparison to charts and guides, what the organisms are.   This is great fun.

The younger kids will learn what it is like "to be a tree", about seed-get-aways, creepie crawlies and decomposition.

The 2 activiites will take place at the same location, somewhere in Traprock Valley-- location to be announced.   The cost will be as in the past-- ~a couple or few dollars per family, depending on how great our turnout is.

Please RSVP to just tentatively express an interest in this event, to Amy (withheld for archive).  The days to pick from were limited, and I didn't want to get much closer to the end of October, since I was thinking it would not be fun to do the stream sampling in sleet.  We'll plan that the 8th will be like today!! :)
CLASS ACT SCHEDULE CHANGE
Please note the new time listed for the Rumpelstiltskin performance on March 25th.  Two shows are offered that day but the 1:00pm performance would conflict with families wanting to attend open swim at Finlandia.  Contact (withheld for archive)to register or with any questions regarding the Class Acts events.
Rumpelstiltskin
Thursday, March 25 at 9:30am
Rumpelstiltskin is a wonderful play with music for young audiences - in fact, for everyone.  The audience helps the play's characters make sensible decisions and everyone works together to create a happy ending.  Rumpelstiltskin is a production of the Visual & Performing Arts Department at Michigan Tech.
