American Government Class to start
Eric (withheld for archive) is going to be teaching a highschool level American Government class, starting this Thursday (2-19-09) @ 6:30 at the Lake Linden library. Simultaneously (or possibly in an accelerated term following government), he is prepared to teach an advanced writing class. The descriptions of both are as below. Contact (withheld for archive) by this Thursday morning if you have any questions, or wish to sign up. The class will meet weekly for ~12 weeks.

American Government is an overview of the people, places and policies that shaped America - starting from before the Revolutionary war we would look at the US Constitution, Declaration of Independence and earlier documents that lead to and past the big July 4, 1776 event. Once the ground work is laid we move on to the US Government and discussion of the three branches - Judicial, Legislative and Executive and various test and trails each branch has had and the 40 or so administrations since George Washington and the impact they have had on America.

All materials are available online for this course and of primary importance will be the US Constitution and the Amendments

Advanced Writing: Creating an essay is a laborious process...starting from scratch we will select a topic and then go forth to create a work worthy for submission for a college level English class and or and admission essay or writing sample.

Regards,
Eric
