COPPER COUNTRY HOME EDUCATORS UPDATES
Kid Business Program

The Museum is kicking off a new program to assist young entrepreneurs, ages eight to 18, in developing, marketing, packaging and selling original products. Kids will be able to sell their products in the newly remodeled Museum store. The program is open to all Upper Peninsula kids. For more information, contact Jim (withheld for archive)

Careers in Natural Resources: 21-25 June 2010
For high school students who want a close-up, hands-on look at what's available in resource-related jobs today. Students will meet with working professionals, learn about natural resource colleges, learn what various occupations require for education or training, what they pay, and what today's job market is like.
Contact Joe (withheld for archive) for more information or download an application form (PDF file).

Portage Library Hosts Special Storytime
The Portage Lake District Library invites all children to a special Storytime on Saturday, May 8, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. as Ariel Lake presents "Ladybugs!" Kids will learn about the important work ladybugs do, find out what they eat and where they live, and listen to a classic story about a ladybug. They will also make a ladybug costume and puppet to take home. Bug cookies will be served.
EDUCATIONAL WEBSITE
I thought this website may be of interest to many homeschooling families. This has simple to understand but comprehensive videos on various subjects including math, science, economics and history.
