Hello and Happy New Year!

Yes! It is time to begin our homeschool ART Co-Op. Below is a note from our Instructor: Haley (withheld for archive).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Calling all artists ages 4 to 8! Drop your spear, pick up a brush, and come to our Art Co-Op meeting on Monday, Jan. 5, 10 a.m. to Noon at the Portage Library (Houghton). We will begin a series studying art in the ancient world specifically exploring prehistoric art in Europe. While we have fun and make a mess we might even learn why we as humans make art. Get ready to do some cave painting, pottery, and post & lintel construction. Leave your pet bison at home, please.
Our second meeting in this series, Feb. 2 (same time and place,) will focus on the art of ancient Greece. We will experiment with relief sculpture and study the Greek architectural orders using kid-friendly materials. Togas are optional.
-Materials used in these sessions will be non-toxic or food-grade. If any artist has a food intolerance and would be prone to eating the materials, please indicate when registering.

And, for some boring administrative stuff:

*much older siblings would be welcome to help other families with larger numbers of participating very young children

*cost will be $5.00/artist: checks payable to Haley (withheld for archive). I (Andrea) will collect payment for Haley at the library.
